Exactamente es un reflejo de la China actual. Un país totalmente vigilado y controlado por su gobierno. China cuenta con cámaras de vigilancia urbana con reconocimiento facial capaces de reconocer caras entre la multitud en cuestión de segundos.

Se trata de una total invasión de la privacidad y hace que la sociedad pueda caer bajo la lupa del ”Gran Hermano”. Hay más de 200 millones de cámaras en todo el país y el número va en aumento.
El régimen de Pekín utiliza sus avances tecnológicos y las enormes bases de datos para conseguir el mejor sistema de vigilancia del planeta y formar al ‘ciudadano ideal’. Las fotografías tomadas en los controles del aeropuerto, las compartidas en redes sociales y las captadas por cualquier cámara se almacenan en bancos de imágenes para identificar a la gente de manera rápida.
Sky Net es el nombre de esta base de datos que permite distinguir y acceder a las fichas de los ciudadanos que caminan por China en segundos. El sistema Dragonfly Eye System identifica entre 2.000 millones de personas con una exactitud del 95.5%.
Vigilancia por reconocimiento facial
En abril de 2018 un fugitivo buscado por la policía China fue arrestado en un concierto de más de 60.000 asistentes. Las cámaras de reconocimiento facial lo detectaron y la policía fue a arrestarle.
Ese mismo año la policía del país empezó a emplear unas gafas con reconocimiento facial. Los agentes son capaces de identificar a una persona solo con mirarla.
Volviendo a las cámaras de tráfico, multan a los ciudadanos que crucen mal la calle o hagan actitudes de ‘mal ciudadano’ y les avisan con un mensaje en sus teléfonos móviles. Por si no fuera poco, las fotografías de los multados son proyectadas en las pantallas urbanas que hay por todo el país para que todo el mundo se entere de que ha cometido un delito por muy leve que sea.
Estos sistemas también se utilizan para perseguir a disidentes o a las minorías oprimidas como los uigures o los tibetanos. Estas zonas están sometidas a un gran control policial para evitar ataques islamitas por las grandes reservas de gas y petróleo y a parte para sofocar las ansias de independencia de estas regiones.
Se calcula que más de un millón de uigures se encuentran en campos de reeducación y los 12 millones restantes se encuentran bajo vigilancia las 24h del día tanto por las cámaras con reconocimiento como por las aplicaciones móviles que el gobierno obliga a instalar para controlar sus hábitos diarios.
Si un uigur utiliza más electricidad de lo normal, consigue viajar al extranjero, utiliza una VPN para acceder a portales de internet prohibidos por el país o simplemente va demasiado a la mezquita ya es sospechoso y el gobierno empieza a investigar.
El crédito social
China utiliza un sistema de crédito social. Este sistema premia a los buenos ciudadanos y penaliza a los malos. Es un sistema de puntuación. Si un ciudadano hace malos hábitos como fumar por la calle, ensuciar la calle, retrasarse en los pagos, comprar alcohol, etc son penalizados.
Unos 13 millones de chinos anualmente son penalizados por sus ‘malas conductas’ y privados de, por ejemplo, utilizar el tren o el avión. Incluso pueden entrar en una lista negra que les estigmatiza ante la sociedad.
