Esto es imposible debido a las leyes británicas y aparte, se alegó que Gary estaba afectado de problemas psicológicos y que su vida corría peligro en prisión. Tampoco fue judgado en su país.

A lo largo de un año McKinnon logró recopilar numerosas imágenes y documentos. Entre otros, se encuentran informes confidenciales relacionados con la vida extraterrestre, ingeniería inversa y mucha información sobre las élites.
Una gran parte de sus descubrimientos forman parte del proyecto The Disclosure Project.
El proyecto se trata de una organización sin ánimo de lucro con el propósito de hacer pública toda la información sobre OVNIs, extraterrestres y más temas ocultos por los gobiernos.
El doctor Steven Greer es el fundador de The Disclosure Proyect. Fue presentado en el Club Nacional de Prensa en Washington en 2001.
